One good thing is that the crown finally fits though she still had to file a bottom tooth a little and part of the crown but it all fit. Since I don't know the process of root canals, it seemed like she did the majority of the canal work right before she put the crown on or perhaps she was just putting in those rods.
I don't know why but the novocaine didn't seem very strong. I mean it did numb a bit of my mouth but not an over abundance of numbness like I would LIKE to feel. I was scared that once she started drilling that I'd be able to feel it but I didn't. Or there were times I felt a little of something but it wasn't that bad that I had to tell her to stop.
One thing that still pisses me off is that, I have NO clue what it was or why it happened, but SOMETHING pinched near the right bottom part of my lip. I don't know if something slipped out of her hand or what but after it pinched me, she moved whatever it was. And the fucked up thing, she didn't apologize either. I'm telling ya, if my mouth wasn't occupied (mind out of the gutter!!) I would've been cursing up a storm. It just fucking HURT!!!! And since I only had a little numbness going on, it felt wet and thought I was bleeding (thank god I wasn't). But I sure as hell could feel the swelling when I left. I was afraid I'd wake up with a big ass swollen lip. It was puffy but not as bad as I expected and it was mostly right on the inner part of my lip, not the outside. I still would like to know what pinched me and I didn't say anything cause it happened so fast and had no time to talk.
*sighs* Now I have to go in two weeks from now to get the permanent cement put on my crown since they only put temp. glue on it. She noticed that the temp crown must've been tearing up my inner cheek which I did happen to bite on it once in awhile if the tooth got in the way. So she wants to give it two weeks for it to settle in and make sure its not rubbing.
I never thought I'd hate going to the dentist as much as I do now. Next Mon I go in for the two bottom teeth for the perm. crown and I HOPE that we have no problems on the fitting so that could be my last visit on that side of my mouth.

I was going to do that shipping/pairing meme but I'm not very good with words when it comes to giving my reasons why so I won't do it. The only kind of answer I would give you is "just cause" *snickers*
Garfield amuses me again, it has to be his tongue.

For some reason, with the temp crowns I had on my upper and now my bottom, both made me chew on my cheek from time to time. Though I'm hoping that the only reason my bottom's seem to be in the way of my cheek is its a little swollen from where she gave me the novicane.

I know you can't wait for this dental stuff to be over! After you get done with this you'll be a-okay! That was wrong of her not to apologize. She knew that something nicked you! Thank goodness it didn't swell up badly.
It takes a while for painkillers to set in for me. I told the dentist that and he gives me a bit more time. It makes a big difference.
Good luck at your next appointment!

I looked in the mirror to see how bad the inside of my lip was and some skin was actually cut. Thank god it healed in a few days though I was still pissed about it. BUTCHER!!
I'm not sure if its cause she gave me a less dosage than when she did the major work on me or just cause of where the area was located for the upper back. But when I get my bottoms worked on, the novicane hits me pretty quick (not unless this other chick give me more).

What?
Wait! You're saying she didnt do the post & core?!! o_O;;;;;
Basically, during a root canal procedure, they drill a hole to pull out the nerve that's in the tooth. The tooth in the back, your molars, have 3-4 canals. The dr has to go in & pull each of the nerve out from the roots. Once that's done, you're supposed to come back (visit #2) to get the Post & Core done. P/Cs are basically a tiny screw that holds the tooth to the bone. Once that's done, then they're supposed to start on the PFMs -- the crowns (visit #3).
When you go in to get the crown, or cap, done, it's usually done in 2 visits. V#3a is for the impression. The impression, or impressions get sent to the lab. Your next appt is normally given in 2wks, & the day after your crown is being requested for delivery. V#3b is to insert the crown. However, there have been times in our office, when some patients need a crown buildup -- where they build the tooth up back almost to its original height, so that the PFM can fit properly; then Visit #3a come into play, then V3b. Other times, on some other patients, the crown comes back, but they have to retake impressions of the tooth, b/c either the PFM doesnt fit, or there was some change somewhere....
As for the dentist nicking you, you shouldve called her out on that. Your dentist should be rude, & just ignore it. There are somethings that I'd havta tell ya in person.
If worse comes to worst, you may need to switch dentist.

I'm sorry you had to go thru that.... =(((

Re: What?
After reading what you typed of what they do, I never knew that especially regarding the canals.
As for impressions, they did that in the 2nd visit. The 3rd visit is when they finish doing the major of the work regarding drilling which I'm sure are rods cause they look like small thin posts (whatever you want to call them or describe them as) and then they put the permanent crown on.
Yeah that still pissed me off as to why she didn't say anything about what she did to nick me. I mean come on, I FLINTCHED! No novicane could hide that feeling.
I can't imagine of other things you could tell me in person. I'll have to keep that in mind next time I see you.
