ALL this time I seen pics of this hot looking guy, I had NO F'ING CLUE that Ace was Luffy's brother! *keels ded* Hell, I had no idea that Luffy even had siblings.

Sooooooo........to those on my flist who is caught up with the anime and/or manga, does Ace have an occurring role or decent role in the series?

SPOIL ME SILLY cause I have a looooooooong way to catch up. I only have up to #100 on the anime, haven't read the manga yet (lord this series is going to be the death of me, I'll NEVER get anything done at this rate!!!!!!!!) And I have no clue how long its going to be till I can catch up. But if you feel that its important that I don't know, then I guess I'll just have to sulk till I can find a quicker way to acquire the anime. (manga is no problem) Speaking of the anime, would anyone on my flist be able to point me or provide a quicker way to get 101 up to the recent eps? Megaupload is taking forever, plus it will only allow so many from your ISP before it tells you "NO, you can't download anymore from me till later."

Another thing too that I'm dying to know unless there is no relation to it or has not been mentioned yet but is there by any chance that perhaps Gol D. Roger is related to Luffy or is that just a coincidence?

Anybody have any fanart links of Ace they could pass my way. I know this is asking for too much but no yaoi please. My squick senses are tingling telling me that the fandom no doubt pairs Ace off with Smoker, Luffy and whoever else. So yeah, if there are squickable pics that I CAN avoid, thats fine. Or any decent One Piece art sites.


I'm almost afraid to hear how his dub voice is going to sound. I hope its not cringe worthy to make me go all stabbitty. Oh yeah, bad news scarbie, Fox is dropping One Piece starting this coming Saturday. So that link I gave you is your only way of watching the series now since you don't have cable.

I'm afraid you only see Ace for a bit then he kind of vanishes for a while. Mind you I stopped watching in the high 100s and the series is now in the 200s but I don't think I've heard anyone fansquealing over him being back... but you know with a show that has well over 200 episodes never say never.

Do you still have your eps saved on disc by any chance? Hell, do you happen to have eps 8 handy, movies, or any OST's? (better to ask now) Actually if you have #8, could you upload it for me? The link I had for it is a bad link.

For the past 3 weeks, nearly every night at work, I would watch as many eps I could (I started right before the Arlong arc cause that was an active batch torrent I found). I felt weird if I didn't try and watch an eps at night. I can imagine that as it goes on, some areas will be a total bore or the fights never seem to end.

This series is going to break my brain. But I must take it slowly on both watching the anime and maybe reading the manga. I got other things I have to do damn it! *weeps*

Luffy totally makes the series, if it weren't for him being who he is or how he acts, I think the series would be plain boring.

I have episodes scattered is different ways. Some I have on streamload (but not all), I bought most of the series up to 204 (I think) as HK dvds (sure the names are wrong most of the time, but it doesn't bother me much).

And yes it's Luffy that makes the series really. He's the lynchpin for his crew and without him the series would probably not have made it as far as it has in manga or anime.

Now I know how ppl feel when they are just now getting into these long ass series. Not only does it take nearly forever to catch up on getting the eps but pending where you get them, finding seeders for a single one is a bitch or even batch eps that has nothing there to connect to.

I'm almost wondering if I should try out IRC and see if I have any luck that way.

I think you would do better getting the series on IRC as opposed to bittorrent since it is so damn long. I know that there are a few groups fansubbing it. Gerosama? is doing the latest episodes and kaizoku has the earlier stuff up to about 160-something I think.

Ace? No, he leaves and comes in maybe... one more flashback, but there are hints that we will see him at a later date. He's gone to some kind of mountain pirate thing following his own pirate crew, and Luffy is stuck in Water 7 arc. But that's about to finish and it's been a long while since I've seen him so he could potentialy pop up soon.

I weep. I used to see pics of him and thought that he was one of the main side characters and thought he was bad too. (this was waaaaaaaay before I ever got into it the series more).

I hope that we will get to see more of him and about his crew. Seems like his side woudl be just as interesting.

In some ways, Zolo don't sound too bad but now I'm pretty much set with Zoro (like DUH! it fits his name being a swordsman and all).

For the main characters in regards to voices, I can tolerate Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and a teeny tiny bit of Usopp. Sanji makes me wanna bash some heads together. He sounds like he's from NJ! WTF!?? The original voice is more smooth and sexier. The dub makes him sound like a total dork with a capital D.

When I saw what all they cut out and the AMOUNT OF EPS THEY DID NOT AIR is absurd!!!!!!!!! I don't get why they cut so many eps out. There was hardly much violence in them. When they first showed Smoker, I was like "why is there so much smoke around this dude's head" and realized that he no doubt had a cancer stick or whatever in his mouth. Then they had to go change his name to Chaser. WTGDF!!!??? Yeah, we're going to change this character and yet still have smoke around him and his powers are SMOKE. Why not just have him spewing flowers. Talk about an ass rape.

Keep in mind I did get a hold of some of those batches so that helped a bit but I could kick myself in the ass for deleting the stuff I had from the Arlong arc. I wasn't going to worry about keeping this series but as I got farther into it, I started to really enjoy it and thought it'd be nice to have it on hand. I have about 30 more eps to catch up where I deleted and then work on getting stuff after 100. *sighs*

This series makes me laugh so much and cry. I just got done watching the Chopper arc this weekend and as much as I adore Chopper, I don't think I can handle watching that arc very much cause I practically bawled through the whole thing (aside from the times I laughed too). Sunday was a very moody day which didn't help since it was soon that time of the month. I watched the 2nd Bridget Jones movie which had me crying in certain spots, then went and watched the rest of the Chopper eps that made me cry even more. I was a bawl baby mess. Damn hormones too, I'm either fine, pissy, or very emotional.

Glad you got the chance to watch #46. Buggy is more funnier originally than what he comes off as in the dub. He seems more of a prick in the dub, I think its the way the voice actor handles the character.

So I take it you don't happen to have eps 8 do you? When I tried dl'ing it last week, the link is bad. If you don't have it, I did let the girl know that the link wasn't working and was going to reupload it. But I'll just hold back what I think will fit on disc with the eps cause I need to burn the eps as I collect them.

Yeah, thats what I'm trying to do too. I try and get at least maybe two eps dl'ing on my compy, one on hubby's and I think I'm going to start and see if I can't get one going on the laptop without timing out my connection.

OH I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!! I thought Naruto was bad for how long it is but this takes the cake. I don't think Bleach will even hit the 100 mark. I think they should end it after the Save Rukia arc and just hold off on animating anything else from the manga till later. It's not like it'd be hurting business if they took a break like that.

Aah~ good ol' Ace <3 You should enjoy his presence in the anime with all those Alabasta fillers, because his role in the manga is more of a "blink and you'll miss him" thing (though I still prefer the manga).

I'm up-to-date with the manga, and he's only appeared briefly ever since (kind of a "hey, I'm alive") and in one of those front-panel stories (since I'm following K-F releases, I don't know if they animated that). However, I do think he'll appear again -- there's still much to resolve about his crew and his relationship with Luffy. And I don't think Oda-sensei ever forgets about anything ^^;

I don't know if you're familiar with IRC, but for me it's the fastest way to get the episodes (and the latest chapters too). Kaizoku Fansubs are up to episode 165 right now, and you can find them at kaizoku-fansubs @ irc.rizon.net, I believe ^__^

Awww.....:( When I saw pics of him I thought that #1. he was a bad guy and #2. he was someone important who might have shown up alot. Boy was I mislead.

I screwed myself cause when I was watching the Arlong arc, I didn't think that I'd be too interested in keeping the series on hand and deleted the eps once I got done watching it. Once I got into the 50's, I realized that I did want the series. *sighs* So far out of all the anime I've watched, this one usually has me laughing my ass off but damn if it doesn't hit you in the gut with the emotions too. Luffy is nearly almost always smiling, its so addicting not to plaster a smile on your face as well. I never cried so much while watching an anime. Seeing the Arlong arc subbed, I cried alot during the Bellemere incident since the dub cut out so much, I didn't get very emotional then. I just got done watching the Chopper arc and bawled my head off. As much as I adore Chopper, I don't think I can watch that arc very much, even if it did have some funny bits, the whole struggle for Chopper.....WAAAIII!!! I just wanna smother him in my bosom with love. It doesn't help either that his voice is Konohamaru in Naruto (who I happen to like and the voice fits great for younger characters).

I honestly don't have a clue about Luffy and Ace's parents -- it's never mentioned ^^; But them being orphans is very possible, yes. However, (and I failed to comment it before) it's becoming obvious they've got some connection going on with Gol D. Roger (grandfather, perhaps?). Especially since the Skypiea Arc's end, when a couple of people comment on it.

For me, IRC works MUCH faster than BT. I've got a DSL connection which maximum download speed is 100k/s, and I tend to get 10-25k/s on BT. However, if the bot is fast, I can get 100k/s on IRC ^__^ Besides, you don't have to worry about seeds (just about queues, lol).

I dl'ed the first chapter of the manga the other night and already I'm sucked into getting all that I can get my hands on. I had no f'ing clue how Luffy got that scar since they never showed us on the anime and I kinda like how the manga starts with Luffy as a kid and THEN show him setting off when he's older instead of just using that piece as a flashback in the anime. Has the characters ages been given? I've been curious about that.

Thats how I got hooked on the series, I suffered through the dub and couldn't really stop watching no matter how hard I tried. I saw a torrent for batches of eps together so I thought why the hell not give it a try and see just how much they edited out. O_____O HOLY SHIT! You wouldn't BELIEVE the stuff they edited and the amount of eps they did not air.
